Competition Precedure
Advice on the swimmers diet before and during the swim meet can be found at ( Still to come!!!)
Following this procedure will mean you are more likely to enjoy a successful day at the meet.
1) All swimmers are responsible for checking the information regarding events, which will be displayed prominently on the notice board at the leisure centre. it is important to note the time of each session, the warm up and the location of the event, and for league matches, what time the coach leaves.
2) All swimmers are generally responsible for their own transportation to and from events. They should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled warm up time. Cards for the event should be posted upon arrival at the pool, prior to changing. For the afternoon or evening session, card posting times check with either the Team Manager/Coach or listen our for the information which will be communicated before the end of the session directly before it.
3) Once changed the swimmers should report to the Team Manager and Coach at poolside before warming up.
4) The warm up should be based on the strokes and distances that they will swim. It is important during warm up to practice starts & turns, as the facilities at each pool are slightly different. Starts and sprints may be available in a designated sprint lane towards the end of the warm up period.
5) Items which should be taken to events include:

6) Before each event swimmers should report to the coaching staff for race instructions. They can then proceed to the event marshals for further instructions. From then on it is the swimmers responsibility to ensure that they are in the right place at the right time.
7) On completion of your event the swimmer should report back to the Team Manager/Coach for a discussion about your race and your split timings. The swimmer can then move on to celebrate with Mum and Dad or friends! Remember winning or losing are not the most important things at these competitions what is though is improving your times and achieving a personal best (PB).
8) Any swimmer wishing to leave the team area at poolside during the session must always seek permission from the Team manager/Head coach. Even upon completion of their events they must ask permission before leaving.
9) Once permission has been given and swimmers leave the poolside they should ensure that:
